Welcome to Strictly Squidding!
Howdy! My name is Oliver Wood. I was born in Melbourne in June of 2001 but have spent the majority of my life in Adelaide. I have had loads of experience on our beautiful Fleurieu and Yorke Peninsula’s, fishing both land based, boat based and even off my kayak.
My passion for fishing stems from my youth, whether it was bait fishing estuaries and flats for species such as flathead and whiting or targeting the humble calamari off our jetties. However, it was one of these species that has always had my interest and that is the Southern Calamari. Over my years of targeting these critters, I have managed to gain some fantastic experience. Whether it is using the correct technique when working squid jigs or finding and fishing the ideal conditions; all whilst keeping and utilising some of the classic techniques that I have learnt from my Nonno and Nonna (grandpa and grandma) that have been proven to be effective. I have managed to write for two magazines in the short time I have been in the fishing scene compared to some. I am meticulous and particular when I fish and this transfers into this business.
The theory behind Strictly Squidding is to provide an easy, yet informative online shopping experience, designed to provide even the most beginner of anglers with an idea of when and how to use these excellent products.
